Even better – even though this wasn’t taught in the lab – it’s clear where to share my thought leadership – as marketing or with private clients. And now the writing floodgates have opened. I have created so much writing that clearly fits into the two programs I created. The creativity I experienced has been amazing, but also freeing.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking Joanna’s just another business coach. She is masterful, smart, insightful. She has deep wisdom in why (or why not) you’ll get results. When I began working with Joanna, I had found my way to a field that I was passionate about – bodywork – but worked in spas in which my vision had no room. I was used to assuming my ideas were crazy and impractical. In my love life, I sought relationships that seemed to result in rejection or disappointment. I was used to scrambling, being either desperate for money or just making ends meet. In fact, I began working with Joanna while I was quite desperate for money. When I began the Your Sacred Business Program, things were haphazard – there was no structure, no plan, and were no systems in place. But now, I have a better understanding of my value and realize how much I have to work on that. This is connected to my beliefs around money and beliefs around whether I deserve to achieve what I dream… Actually, the program has forced me to really think clearly about what I want instead of just dealing with the things in front of me.

I also have more systems in place (income spreadsheet, mail list, and newsletter) which have allowed me to make better decisions rather than dealing with crisis or trying to make decisions in the “unknown”. I have a structure and system for campaigns. Currently, I do find this wield-y but I really have seen the value and the result from following up – especially personally. I’ve learned how to create offerings, take chances with these ideas, put myself out there and get feedback – mostly positive. I wouldn’t have done this on my own. I feel I’m learning to communicate more honestly from my value and heart.

I’m very excited to enter a partnership to start the first retreat business in San Miguel De Allende as well as head up the first Iyengar teacher training in Queretaro, Mexico. I can see the possibility of a fruitful retreat business and teaching out of town students eager to receive the information I have. I like the idea of going towards what is flowing.

The Your Sacred Business Program offers a balance of focusing on the inner obstacles, as well as the systematic approaches to one’s success. It’s practical, as well as more spiritual. Honestly, I was a bit worried about that part, but I have found it necessary and helpful to do the inner work – whether that be provoking questions from my Accountability Coach or guided meditations before calls.

I was referred to the program by friends who worked with Joanna, so I wasn’t sure at first what it was going to be like having an Accountability Coach and working with Joanna on group calls. I have to say that my Accountability Coach has been great and I’ll try to list the ways – but there way more than I can put down. She is supportive and kind but also pushes me with homework, questions, and guidance. I like that. She doesn’t give up. She is responsive, and I’ve felt, seen and heard (one of my big issues). She has kindly pushed me to take the reins of my own life and business. I’m not so good at celebrating my achievements because I always see there is more to do, so at first her insistence to celebrate seemed silly—oh, it’s not silly at all.

The Q/A calls with Joanna have been focused and informative. She expertly hones in on the issue (and this takes talent) and gets to business. I feel every moment is worthwhile. I find every question applicable in some way and so I learn a ton. At first, I was shy to speak up and felt like I wasn’t connected to Joanna, but this was great fodder to look at my needs and s#$# (“she doesn’t like me”) and how that was getting in my way and apply this to some of my struggles in business.

I have found the program so incredibly balanced between the more inner/psychological woman-y stuff and the “get down to business” and move forward aspects. Either end, I think, would feel too fluffy and soft or too hard and dismissive on its own. I’m really happy with the balance and acknowledge that this is an art.

I feel I’m a work in progress. I would love to write something that I see in the newsletter – that my income has increased 7 fold from the beginning of the program. My achievements are smaller in those terms but larger and more profound in shifting my thinking. My thinking has shifted to one where I’m in the driver’s seat. Even though I offer a service, I can create what I want. What I want is still developing as the obstacles to dreaming and planning and deserving slip away. I never thought I could run a workshop, but I did. I never thought people would sign up, but they did. I never thought putting myself out there would bring positive results and comments, but it has. I never thought creating private programs for students would work, but they have purchased them.

Mostly, the value, value, value is what keeps coming up. Can’t really move forward if I don’t truly value my work and really become deaf to comments that shake that value. Hard work. But this inner work is essential! I have much still to struggle with here. I didn’t realize how much I was in my way. I didn’t realize how much my laissez-faire/non-organized approach was in my way. I called it some sort of humble-ness, but it’s just avoidance or abdication of responsibility for my value. Or how much work is required to get what you want! I’m working hard, trying to deal with those inner voices, clarify even more clearly what I want and work towards it – without shame.

Before I started the Your Sacred Business training and coaching program I was floundering as to how I wanted to represent myself as a wellness coach. For several years I taught a franchised weight loss class. While it has fabulous information and tools to educate individuals on how to eat healthy, I felt as though it was missing a major component to helping people create lasting results. When I started with the Your Sacred Business Program, I was re-building my business, which had paused for 2 years.
